DropSheet / No subscription
Receipt scanner without a subscription
$29.99 once. Photos or PDFs in. Excel or CSV out. No monthly plan, no seats, no account. Not Expensify.
Expensify alternative, one-time payment
Expensify is for teams that submit expenses, reimburse, and keep receipts in the cloud. You pay for that machine every month. If you are a freelancer who needs a spreadsheet for the accountant, you are renting a building to store a shoebox.
DropSheet is the shoebox tool. One person. One computer. One payment. It does not do corporate cards, approval chains, or payroll. If you need those, stay on Expensify. If you need rows — date, vendor, total, category — this is the job.
Shoeboxed alternative
Shoeboxed is a service: mail the paper, or snap it, and they keep the documents. That is the right product if you want someone else to store the archive. It is the wrong product if the point was that a pharmacy receipt never sits on someone else’s server.
DropSheet does not store your receipts. It reads them here and writes Excel or CSV. What they publish about where photos go is on where receipt apps send your data.
For a freelancer, not a finance team
One person. A year of slips. A spreadsheet for Schedule C. No seats. That is the job this is for. A free Expensify alternative it is not — Expensify is a different machine, and “free” here means try the sheet, then $29.99 once for export.

A finance team. Anyone who needs receipts available on every device from a login. Anyone who wants SmartScan emailed to a shared inbox. Buy the subscription product. DropSheet is local on purpose. Nothing is uploaded.
One payment. Then you own the program.
Sheet is free. Export is $29.99 once. Pays on Gumroad.
Checkout is on Gumroad. The license pastes in DropSheet.
